The webinar series is organised by Christian Wurzer, PhD student at the UKBRC as part of the Green Carbon European Training Network.
UK Biochar Research Centre, University of Edinburgh
Since 2009, the UK Biochar Research Centre (UKBRC) has led strategic, multidisciplinary investigations of biochar:
Biochar production and analysis of energy rich co-products
The diverse potential applications of biochar; particularly as a beneficial soil amendment, as well as other uses
The feasible development of Pyrolysis-Biochar systems and Life Cycle Assessments for sustainable resource management.

Green Carbon European Training Network
The Green Carbon network is a EU Horizon 2020 project consisting of 14 PhD research projects across 8 European Universities. The network promotes collaboration between research groups focussed on environmental applications for advanced carbon materials such as biochar, hydrochar or activated carbons.
The Green Carbon PhDs will present their research in the webinar series.

Since 2017, I am PhD student at the UK Biochar Research Centre as a Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher within the Green Carbon project.
My work is focused on the development of sequential biochar systems, enabling biochar to be recycled and applied in sequential scenarios. Therewith, biochar can use its full potential and provide multiple benefits to our climate.
